Sunflower purchase prices are rising: what farmers should know

09.10.2025
The Ukrainian agricultural market is developing dynamically, and sunflower remains one of the most profitable crops for local farmers. Recently, processors have raised purchase prices for sunflower, which has become an important signal for producers. Experts recommend not delaying sales and using the favorable market situation.
Current sunflower prices in Ukraine
- According to Agrotender, purchase prices for sunflower across different regions of Ukraine range between 26,000 – 27,000 UAH/ton.
- Open Agribusiness reports that for standard quality parameters in some regions, the price is around 26,400 UAH/ton (with auto-delivery).
- The platform Tripoli.land shows an average price in Ukraine of about 24,692 UAH/ton, with the highest trader offers reaching up to 27,400 UAH/ton (excluding VAT).
These numbers show that prices vary significantly depending on quality, logistics, region, and contract terms.
Current sunflower prices in Dnipropetrovsk region
- APGK Dniprovska offers about 26,000 UAH/ton for sunflower under elevator conditions.
- G.R. Agro has not published exact figures for July 29, 2025, but confirmed that their purchase prices in Dnipropetrovsk region remain competitive.
Why are prices different
- Seed quality – moisture level, impurities, oil content, and acid number influence the price.
- Logistics and delivery – transport costs to elevators or processing plants.
- Regional location – regions closer to ports or processing facilities usually have higher prices.
- Terms of agreement – whether VAT is included, self-delivery or transport provided, purchase volume.
When is it profitable to sell
Experts advise that autumn is the most favorable period for selling sunflower, as demand rises and processors compete for raw materials. Farmers who can ensure proper storage conditions and preserve seed quality can achieve significantly higher profits compared to quick sales.
👉 This season offers Ukrainian farmers a real chance to maximize profits. Monitoring regional prices and making timely sales decisions will help ensure the best possible result.
